This is the time of year when everyone is asking,” can you catch fish at this time of year”? We love to say,” you can catch fish at this time of the year and have the whole river pretty much to yourself”. You have to concentrate your efforts on short stretches of water and work harder and fish smarter but you can definetly catch fish and some big ones at that. We usally would recommend nyphing and using streamers. We are now taking spring bookings and also booking for our annual Walker Lake-Kettle River Trip. If you are hard core enough for a winter float trip give us a call we will get you out there and teach you how to catch those picky trout in the winter time. Use the San Jaun worm and stonefly as a go to setup. Fish the deep slow water and make lots of drifts. Lightining bugs and small pheasant tails will also do the trick. Here are a couple of beautiful trout we had a doulble on recently. The river is down and in great shape. Get out there and fish!!!!
