yakima river fishing report for the week of 04/10/2014

These last few days have been hit and miss. The river is on the verge of a blow out and will probably go this week. Im keeping my fingers crossed it holds on. We fished south to state there were at least five other boats on the water but we still caught some quality fish. We focused on water that was probably not being pounded by the average boater, aka braids. I always like to get out of the boat and fish those braids the boats have not been getting into. We caught several nice rainbows and cutt’ys. We fished the streamer and nymhed with the big ugly stone fly in various colors. The San Juan worm was hitting as well. There was some color to the water so the worm was working very well. We focused on that four plus foot depth water and slow current with knuckle water. Fish hard and fish clean. If your not a great caster now is the time to work on your cast. Goodluck we will see you out there and dont forget the shop is now open on the weekends. Stop on by and say hi.
