This is the time of year when the Yakima river almost seems magical. The weather and water have been stable and the fish have been on the dries. I recently had a day to go out and fish the Yakima myself. I did a marathon float from South Cle Elum to Thorp and it was amazing. there was no wind and it was overcast all day. I roped some big trout. I am starting to see some October caddis adults sporadically through out the day. still seeing yellow sallies and bwo’s. The fishing has been the best early in the morning or late in the day. If you need some bugs stop by the shop and we will get you dialed in. If you want to take a trip now is the time to do it. If you don’t have time make time because you don’t want to miss out on some great fishing. I hope you get out on the water and enjoy what fly fishing and the Yakima river has to offer.
